At Sport2Be, we are firm believers that sport has the power to transform lives. To us, it is far more than mere physical exercise; it is a potent catalyst that enables young people to rise above their circumstances, both physically and mentally. Through sport, they forge unbreakable self-confidence and gain the necessary environment to unlock their full potential.
Each week, we host free, inclusive sports sessions for young people aged 8 to 20. Whether it is football, street soccer, fitness, futsal, basketball, dance, or boxing: sport is the common thread that runs through everything we do. It serves as the bedrock of self-belief and fosters a deep bond of trust between the youth, their families, their community, and our organisation.
By providing consistency through our activities, we forge a lasting bond with every participant. This creates a safe haven for self-reflection and the exploration of personal ambitions. In close collaboration with their families and our partners, we offer bespoke guidance toward education, the labour market, and social integration. In this way, sport serves as the ultimate lever for personal and professional development.
1. No Poverty (SDG 1)
Levelling the playing field.
We are dedicated to restoring equal opportunities for young people living below the poverty line in Belgium. By guiding them toward vocational training and stable employment, we take direct action in the fight against systemic poverty, empowering them to break the cycle and achieve financial independence.
2. Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3)
Fostering holistic health.
Sport is the heartbeat of our organisation. It allows us to champion the physical, mental, and social well-being of the youth we serve. Our programmes are designed to build resilience, ensuring that every participant develops the strength of character and body needed to thrive.
3. Quality Education (SDG 4)
Sport as a catalyst for learning.
We utilise sport as an educational lever to instil fundamental values such as respect, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Beyond the pitch, we equip young people with essential life skills and provide bespoke guidance for their academic journeys and initial forays into the professional world.
4. Gender Equality (SDG 5)
Empowering young women. Inclusivity is at the core of our mission.
By hosting both mixed-gender sessions and female-specific activities, we cultivate a safe, supportive environment where young women can flourish. We encourage them to build confidence, hone their talents, and claim their rightful place in society.
5. Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8)
Bridging the gap to employment.
Through our dedicated Squad and (Re)Connect initiatives, we mentor young people aged 16 and over as they transition into internships, apprenticeships, and long-term careers. Our hands-on approach is a vital tool in reducing youth unemployment and driving local economic growth.
6. Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10)
Dismantling barriers to success.
We operate at the heart of socio-economically vulnerable neighbourhoods, offering all our activities free of charge. By removing financial and social obstacles to sport, education, and work, we actively challenge the status quo and strive to close the inequality gap.
